While designing kitchen decide upon three major factors. First and foremost is how you live in this space of your home? Secondly, whether you want to go for renovation, redecoration or just an update for the space? Third and most important is to decide upon the style and pattern for designing your home.
The rules of interior design aren't always as free as whimsical as your new kitchen ideas. The entire idea behind kitchen interior design is to make your new home's kitchen your very own through specific and distinct changes. It stands to reason since you are living in a home built by a stranger that their style may not be yours. A new kitchen design filled with a soapstone fireplace or a soapstone stove is the way to go.
Another annoying factor can be light. This is to many of you who live in apartments that do not receive any shed of natural light, simply add more electrical lights. These lights should be able to make the kitchen feel much brighter. However they do not have to be always on the ceiling, instead they could be above the stove and near a couple of cupboards that do not really receive much light. As a general rule, I would not have any more than 3 separate switches for lightbulbs, this is for other people that may use the kitchen.
In case you are lured to use a more dramatic color to keep away the boredom of everyday stuffs like cooking and arranging meals, I would advise to choose colors very cleverly and make sure that the color of the cabinet actually 'goes' with the rest of the kitchen. Be innovative in implementing your interior design ideas. You should choose the color and style of the cabinet so that they are fit with the get up of a modern & contemporary kitchen. One way of doing this is by painting the walls with a contrast color so that the color of the cabinet strikes you.
We had the contractors start the parade - looking at the layout of the kitchen and the cabinet construction, the overall construction of the house and the kitchen in particular. The bids came in - slowly at first and then in a deluge. The prices were astounding. This was in the early 1980's and the low bid was $12,000, and that was for a new sink, paint and "new cabinet facings" (new doors on the existing cabinets!) Now the house was not inexpensive, but these prices were out of sight! Times were much like today, many people out of work and contracts were few and far between.
